Calgary Web Design

Web Design in Calgary

We build websites for service-based businesses in Calgary, designed to rank locally, load fast, and turn visitors into paying customers.

Who we build websites for in Calgary

Calgary has more agencies, more competitors, and more noise than almost anywhere else in Alberta. Standing out here takes more than a nice-looking homepage. We work with four types of Calgary business, and the site has to do a different job for each one.

Trades and home services

Roofers, HVAC, plumbers, electricians, landscapers, the trades that keep a city this size running. Calgary sprawls in every direction, so the site needs a service area that reflects how you actually work, not just your home quadrant, plus a phone number a thumb can find in two seconds.

Industrial and commercial

Equipment, fabrication, transport, safety, and industrial supply feeding Calgary's energy and construction sector. The buyer is a procurement contact with a checklist, and your site is being measured against it: certifications, capabilities, real project photos, and a way to actually reach someone.

Clinics and practices

Dental, chiro, physio, optometry, legal, accounting, in a city this size you're competing with every practice that shows up in the same map pack, not just the one two blocks over. Frictionless booking, real photos, and rankings for the treatment searches that actually bring in new patients.

Retail and storefronts

17th Ave, Marda Loop, Inglewood, the strips people look up before they drive across town. In a city this spread out, your Google Business Profile does more work than your homepage, so the site's job is backing it up: right hours, right location, current photos, content that ranks beside the map pin.

What's included in every build

No tiers, no upsell path, no “SEO package” tacked on once you’re already committed. Every Calgary build includes all of this from day one.

How a website project runs

A Calgary build runs about six weeks from kickoff to launch, on average. Runs longer only when we’re waiting on content or approvals, that’s the honest bottleneck almost every time.

1. Discovery

A conversation comes first, not a form. We need to know what you sell, who buys it, where leads come from now, and what this site actually needs to accomplish. Then we audit your current site, your Calgary competitors, and the search landscape, and return with a fixed price.

2. Design

The homepage and main templates get built first, so there's something real to react to instead of a concept. You give notes, we revise, and nothing proceeds until you're happy with the direction.

3. Build and content

We build on a private WordPress staging environment and write your content alongside it. You review live pages at a real URL, on your phone, and revisions happen at this stage, not after go-live.

4. Launch

DNS, redirects from every old URL, SSL, analytics, Search Console, checked on staging before anything goes public. Your rankings transfer with the site, they don't reset to zero on launch day.

5. Growth

After go-live, you're on a care plan: hosting, updates, monitoring, backups, support. When you want to grow past maintenance, SEO or Google Ads are the logical next step, assuming the numbers justify it.

What Our Clients Say

Verified Google reviews from businesses we’ve built, hosted, and grown.

Calgary website pricing made simple

Most builds start around $4,500 and settle between $7,500 and $15,000, scope and complexity being the main variables. Larger enterprise projects run higher. Hosting and support come as a separate monthly plan, quoted with the project itself. What you get up front is a real scope, a real timeline, and no fees that surface later.

We don't disappear after launch

The pattern with new Calgary clients is almost always the same: great communication until launch, silence after. Two things fix that on our end. Hosting and maintenance covers Kinsta hosting, daily backups, core updates, and monitoring that catches problems before they land on you. Website support is the standing Basecamp project, post whenever something comes up, and a real person on our team handles it, this week or three years from now.

Already have a website? Start with SEO

A Calgary business with a site it likes but no search traffic doesn’t have a website problem, it has a visibility problem, and a rebuild won’t fix that. We’ll audit what’s there honestly before recommending anything.

Who you'll actually work with

Distance doesn’t mean a different process, it just means we do it over video from Edmonton instead of in person. You still get the same four people from the first call through year five, nobody gets handed off.

Calgary web design FAQ

Do you work with businesses in Calgary, and can you help us rank locally?

Yes, though the how looks different than it does for our Edmonton clients. Every Calgary build still launches with full local SEO in place: schema markup, location pages, Google Business Profile alignment, and content structured for local intent, we just handle the relationship over video instead of coffee. That’s also what shows up when someone searches “web design calgary” or “web designer calgary,” the same local signals Google uses for those searches.

Six weeks, typically, kickoff to launch. Custom functionality, e-commerce, or a heavy migration extends that to eight or twelve. The variable is almost never our side, it’s how fast content and approvals come back to us.

Calgary projects generally fall between $4,500 and $15,000, with $7,500 a common starting point once scope is set. That’s a fixed price agreed on up front, not an hourly number that grows mid-project. Hosting and support are a separate monthly line.

Yes, on purpose. WordPress is open source and runs a large share of the web, so you own your site outright instead of renting it. No marketplace themes either, every build is custom from the ground up.

Both, and we don’t separate them into two hires. Design is the layout and look, development is everything underneath making it actually work, WordPress setup, custom functionality, the whole build. One project, one team, not a design phase followed by a scramble for a developer.

We handle it. Keyword research and a look at your competitors happen before we draft a single page, and you approve everything before launch. If you’d rather write your own copy, we’ll build around that instead.

Rarely, by design, most Calgary work runs the same way our farther-out clients’ does: calls, email, a shared staging link. If an in-person kickoff or launch review genuinely matters to you, we’ll make it happen.

None. Hosting and support are month to month, no lock-in, and your site and data leave with you if you go. The build itself is a fixed-scope project with a defined start and finish.

301 redirects get mapped for every old URL before anything goes live, and we watch Search Console closely afterward. A short dip during reindexing is normal and usually recovers past your starting point, the sites that actually suffer are the ones where nobody planned this step.
